In Volterra there are two main supermarkets.

 

Coop Volterra  - Coop Volterra is bigger and is open Monday – Saturday 7.30am – 8.30pm and on Sundays 8am – 1pm.

 

Conad City is open 7 days a week, 8am – 8pm.

Please check all opening hours, especially on or near public holidays, in case of change.

​There is also a Coop in Peccioli, where the opening hours are slightly shorter than Volterra, which might be useful if picking up groceries en route from the airport. As you would expect in Italy, there is also a plethora of smaller shops selling fabulous local produce. Check out the truffle shop in Volterra, which is one of our favourites, but there are lots to chose from!​

 

Finally, there is a local shop in Villamagna (about 15 mins away). The shop is tiny but is well-stocked with essentials.

 

​If you are flying in from Pisa, there is a also a Coop-Fi in Navacchio about ten minutes drive from the airport and on the way to the house.  It is useful to pick up key groceries before you arrive at the house and very easy to navigate to.
