Bella Vista di Volterra
The house was originally a historic monastery of the Val d’Era, dating back the early 1700s. The house is built near the top of the hill of San Biagio and has gorgeous views over the valley and across to the wonderful Etruscan town of Volterra. More recently, the house has been used for seasonal rentals, a pizzeria, and it is now our home away from home.
Inside the Property
In the last year we have been lovingly refurnishing the house throughout. All six double bedrooms have been updated and refitted with en-suite bathrooms. We have upgraded the air-conditioning throughout the house and installed a new kitchen to cater for larger groups, with a gas hob, two ovens, air-fryer, dishwasher, large American-style refrigerator with counter-top seating to make time spent in the kitchen a more sociable experience. Leading off the kitchen is a utility room with further fridge-freezer, further dishwasher, large capacity washing machine and separate tumble drier. We have also installed Starlink Satellite Wi-Fi.
There are large sociable spaces throughout the house, including a large living room with statement dining table to seat 14, spacious living room seating area and pool table. One of the highlights of the house is its indoor professional wood pizza oven, situated in the bar area of the main living room. The living room enjoys some of the best views the house has to offer, and also has shutters and air-conditioning throughout, for those taking some time out from the Tuscan sun.
Outside the Property
There are spectacular views from the outside of the house. The garden wraps around much of the property and has both a gas and a coal barbeque. There are three separate outdoor shaded seating areas, one of which has s a dining table and chairs to seat 14. The ideal place to enjoy an evening meal and watch the sun set over the Tuscan hills.
The terraced pool area is equipped with sun-loungers and fantastic views of olive trees and the surrounding countryside.
There is a table tennis table for use in the raised garden area at the end of the lounge.
Please note that from time to time during your stay someone from our managing agents may come to check on the pool and/or to do some garden maintenance.
